Pic number 8 looks to me like a ceremony of the new fire from the Easter Vigil. Knowing the accuracy of the BBC when it comes to reporting religion, I would not be in the least surprised.
And while I am in grumpy mood, may I report to readers of this blog a sentence from the (London) Daily Telegraph last week: ‘In Britain there is an honour killing in the name of religion nearly once a week.’ Pardon me? In the name of religion? Would that be Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist? No. The reporter means of course Islam, and even then only certain tribal traditions of Islam, but seemingly does not have the courage to say so. Political correctness again.

Political correctness will prove to be the great lie of our time.
Thanks, Kendall. Loved these pics.
If it’s indeed a Christian worship service, the photo of a huge crowd in Indonesia is encouraging.
