CBS is set to air an anti-abortion ad featuring Florida Gators quarterback Tim Tebow and his mother Pam. The two will discuss Mrs. Tebow’s decision against an abortion after she became ill while pregnant with Tim.
The network has received complaints, most notably from women’s advocacy groups, and the prominent National Organization of Women. Tuesday the network responded.
“We have for some time moderated our approach to advocacy submissions after it became apparent that our stance did not reflect public sentiment or industry norms,” CBS spokesman Dana McClintock said in a statement. ”In fact, most media outlets have accepted advocacy ads for some time.”
Glad to hear the NOW Thought Police are ever vigilant in
protecting society from thoughtcrime.
I might watch the Super Bowl just to see this ad.
It surprises me no end CBS agreed to air this.
If so-called “Pro Choice” advocates really were for “Choice” they would be applauding Tebow’s mother’s choice to have Tim. Instead, they show themselves for who they really are. Apparently, the only “choice” allowed is abortion.

I’m with you, Mountain. Who’d have thought? Still, a rare hats off to CBS for making the right call for once.
betcha $10 CBS caves before the game airs. It’s amazing, though, that this really shouldn’t be a big deal, but the media is doing its best to stoke the flames and get the pro-aborts riled up.
A couple of years ago CBS rejected a UCC ad on the grounds that it was “too controversial” for suggesting that churches should be welcoming towards gay and lesbian people. That hangs something of a question mark on their statement that they will consider ads “on all sides of an issue.”
No. 4 flaanglican, how absolutely true, and how ironic; “pro-choice” is actually a euphemism, it would seem.
#7–The UCC ads were not rejected because of the advocacy of inclusion of gays and lesbians in churches, but because the ads were primarily aimed at attacking other church denominations, which violated CBS’ policies. UCC was not willing to remake its ads to address that concern.
