Plenary speakers will include Kenneth Kearon, the infamous Gen. Sec. of the AC and head of the ACO (Mon.), PB ++Schori (Tues.), and the moderator of the ultra-liberal United Church of Canada (Wed.). No conservatives scheduled. So much for inclusivity.
As far as the ACoC’s response to the Covenant goes, it’s highly significant that the only resolution I saw about it, A137, essentially defers a decision until the next Gen. Synod meeting in 2013. And it’s notable that this resolution proposing a two-year delay in taking any official action is moved by +George Bruce, Bishop of Ontario, one of the three dioceses that has already approved SSM’s!
As far as I know, the Diocese of Ontario has not passed a resolution regarding SSBs. The only ones I am aware of are New West, Niagra, and Ottawa, with supportive motions from Huron, Montreal and Toronto.
Please pray for all the delegates of General Synod and especially those like myself who are affiliated with the Anglican Communion Alliance.
