AP–Inmates Get Homebuyer Tax Credits: Gov't Report

The investigator said 241 of the inmates were serving life sentences.

In all, more than 14,100 taxpayers wrongly received at least $26.7 million in tax credits that were meant to boost the nation’s slumping housing markets, said the report by J. Russell George, the Treasury Department’s inspector general for tax administration.

This little oops has been brought to you by the same oh-so-very-smart people who will be running all of the socialist wet-dream programs that are in the process of being inflicted upon us. Of course, those caring and compassionate bureaucrats are getting all the mistakes of inexperience out of the way in these piddling little examples so thngs should just be perfect when the big programs come to fruition. Oh wait! The history of government as the inefficient inflictor of ‘socially good’ programs has been rife with screw-ups just like this for decades (and more!). So I guess we will continue to be subjected to an unmitigated government morass for as long as We The People allow this conduct to continue.

    Elections do, indeed, have consequences.
