US Walks Out on Ahmadinejad Speech

The U.S. and other western delegations walked out of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s U.N. speech Thursday after he said “most people around the world” believe the United States government was responsible for the September 11, 2001 terror attacks.

Mr. Ahmadinejad told world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly that it was mostly U.S. government officials who believed a terrorist group was behind the suicide hijacking attacks that brought down New York’s World Trade Center and hit the Pentagon.

Another theory, he said, was that people “within the U.S. government” orchestrated the attacks to reverse the declining American economy and to save what he called Israel’s “Zionist regime.”

Some people just feel the need to advertise that they are doo doo heads. This clown is near the top of that list.

(I spent ten years in the Navy and it took me a couple minutes to translate my real thoughts into a comment that might pass muster with the elves.)

Hey, I’m just glad that the deligates had the integrity to walk out. I’m actually surprised that they would after many of their other weak actions/inactions.

  3. Terry Tee says:

Clearly Goebbels is alive and well.

  4. Cennydd13 says:

I can’t say what I’d really like to say about this joker because it’s unprintable, but I will say this: Al Qaeda took responsibility for the WTC and Pentagon attacks, so he lied.

  5. Dallasite says:

An interesting op-ed in today’s Wall St. Journal (“Breakfast with Ahmidinijad”). In that article, he is clearly a skilled rhetorician, is more than a match for reporters, and isn’t afraid to lie through his teeth. Scary thing is that many of his supporters in Iran know he’s lying about numbers, etc., but they don’t care.

  6. Cennydd13 says:

Too bad that Western politicians don’t call him out publicly and tell him he’s lying through his teeth. The whole world should hear it.

  7. Jim the Puritan says:

Sometimes I wish there weren’t such a thing as diplomatic immunity. If we could have grabbed the guy, the whole world would be a lot better off.

#6, I believe Ronal Reagen would have.

    Ugh, Ronald!

I’m interested, what is the background of such accusation? I need facts. How could anyone accuse somebody without any evidences? Besides, the point is really very serious. It seems to me sometimes that these politicians sometimes don’t know what they are talking about. And ordinary people suffer because of their wars. They would better think how to improve today’s financial situation. A lot of people take payday loans no fax and live constantly in debts.

Who needs background? For much of his audience, simply saying it makes it true! Rosie O’Donnell says it, too, so it must REALLY be true!

Rather than “extend a hand”, I would have preferred Obama say “We’re done talking with Iran until it has a rational adult in charge. We strongly request the people of Iran consider whether their President is intellectually, emotionally, and medically fit for office.” Then request a mind-of-the-Assembly vote to test the assertion that “most nations and politicians around the world agree with [his] view.” Then a plea to fellow nations to consider the risk that a nation building a nuclear arsenal is run by a man who can say these things, as well as “we have no gay people” in Iran, and “there was no Holocaust”, etc.

  13. Already left says:

Where was Joe (whats-his-name who yelled “you lie” to the President) when we needed him?

  14. Cennydd13 says:

You mean ‘Joe the Plumber?’ I wish he would tell the joker to shut up!

Dallasite, post 5: The WSJ is really out of touch if they think Ahmadinejad’s “supporters in Iran know he’s lying about numbers, etc., but they don’t care”. Doesn’t the WSJ realize that people in Iran are not free to care or not care, they are ruled with an iron hand and if they want to stay alive it is necessary to agree with any outlandish thing their leader has to say.

#14, no, Rep. Joe Wilson (R, South Carolina)

  17. Cennydd13 says:

I think Joe the Plumber would do more than tell him he’s a liar.
