(RNS) Muslims Allege Inappropriate Questions by Security Agents

American Muslims reentering the United States from abroad are alleging U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents inquired about their religious beliefs and practices””questions they say violate their constitutional rights.

Two civil liberties groups, the American Civil Liberties Union and San Francisco-based Muslim Advocates, are now calling on the Department of Homeland Security to investigate.

    What utter horse hockey. They can grab my and my wife’s personal areas for no articulable reason, but they can’t ask if we are terrorists. Only in America.

    The issue in the context of the posted story was whether the questions asked did anything to inform security personnel about the likelihood of whether the persons being interrogated are terrorists. I suppose they could ask us all whether we are terrorists, but I doubt that such a question is likely to elicit actionable information.
