1. Milton says:

[blockquote]Bishop Skip Adams of Central New York set the tone for the day and spoke about the realities of Muslims living in our society. He referred to practical, theological and religious aspects.[/blockquote]
One practical aspect no doubt being that once you have gone back on negotiations in good faith for a departing congregation to buy its building, you should instead seize the building and an endowment, tear down signs directing the hungry to the relocation of a soup kitchen formerly held there, then turn around and sell the empty church building to Muslims for pennies on the dollar.
A true wolf, er, shepherd of the mutton, er, sheep, that’s sheep!

2. Milton says:

Another gem:
[blockquote]Among the points that Ahmed cited was that most converts to Islam are women. In talking about Islam, he said, “We share Jesus. We look at him differently but we share Jesus.”[/blockquote]

We do indeed look at Him differently. About as differently as the Pharisees and the Apostles, and with the same results respectively. Jesus asked His disciples, “Who do you say that I am?” Who we say Jesus was and is will make all the difference in our eternal destiny and a great deal of difference in our life on earth.

And do many of those women converts to Islam, perhaps most to marry a Muslim husband, have some surprises awaiting them!

Really, people should read the entire article to understand just how far the House of Bishops has strayed from its essential charge to preach Christ to everyone. This is tragic.

4. driver8 says:

They spent an entire day discussing Islam (not forgetting the influence of weather patterns and trade routes)? What on earth for? And one of their expert speakers was the former PB’s journalist/travel writer daughter who has, ‘travelled to areas “where Christianity and Islam meet”‘. Good Lord, it’s beyond parody at this point.

Well, what should you expect?

6. Pb says:

The HOB reminds me of Yeats’ Magi. “And all their eyes still fixed, hoping to find once more,
Being by Calvary’s turbulence unsatisfied,
The uncontrollable mystery on the bestial floor.

If everyone here hates the TEC then just leave! Wow, really? Just go join the ACNA, or some freaky pentecostal church that would better suit your beliefs.

I don’t get it. You stay and continue to whine. Go be with your own homophobic, bigoted brethren.

Really?
