I listened to the bulk of the second half on the way home in the car via radio. What a truly horrible call on the penalty kick retake.
Yet down to 10 players the USA found a way to even it up.
Simply a terrific victory.
We saw that penalty kick retake. The TV commentators were very negative about it, and the video backed them up. Amazing that they won anyhow.
Ah, the post-game analysis now says it wasn’t the goalie who jumped too soon; the call was encroachment by another US player into the penalty box before the kick was made.
