Northern Wisconsin dioceses discover vote discrepancy precluding junction

The irregularity appears to have occurred in the reporting of the vote of the Fond du Lac lay order.

Is there something here that as an external observer I am missing? Fond du Lac is the larger and healthier of the two – did it fear being associated with a financially weaker diocese? I would have thought that one diocese would have been stronger? They are both from the old High Church tradition (I remember my history books) so you would have thought that a merger would have been a no-brainer.

Clarin, that is the kind of poetic sensibility that brought us the dreadful song that goes through the names of the states – ‘What did Della wear boys what did Della wear? She wore a brand New Jersey’ etc. Drat. Now I shall be singing it in my head all day.
