I am so sick of the use of the fatuous term “work” in church circles (almost as much as the word “folks”). Sitting around and talking for hours might technically be a proper use of that word, but must ecclesiastics furrow their brows so self-importantly, and append the adverb “hard” before it? Digging ditches is work. What we do for a vocation (or avocation) is essentially intangible, and the castles we build in the sky are mostly fantastical.
