[Lent & Beyond] A Prayer for the Diocese of South Carolina

With thanks to Jill Woodliff at Lent & Beyond for this call to prayer
Bp Mark Lawrence met with his clergy on 25th July 2012, in regards to the actions of General Convention.

St. Patrick’s Breastplate, pronouns modified

We bind unto the clergy of the Episcopal Diocese of South Carolina today
The strong Name of the Trinity,
By invocation of the same
The Three in One and One in Three.

We bind this day to them forever
By power of faith, Christ’s incarnation;
His baptism in Jordan river,
His death on Cross for our salvation;
…Please pray it all

    Bishop Lawrence and Diocese of SC clergy, you are bound with all the saints and martyrs to the one, holy God who binds us to Himself through the blood of the Lamb. I am likewise bound to Him and bound with you in this confession, not to mention bound with you in the trails and joys of being reasserting clergy in an overwhelming reappraising Church. May God keep us one.
