Susan E. Goff became the first female bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia when she was consecrated Saturday in Richmond.
The elaborate ceremony, which lasted more than two hours, reflected Goff’s goal of reaching out to Latinos, Asians and other people of color.
A Gospel selection, for example, was read in Korean, Spanish, Vietnamese and English.
How did that happen so close to DC and her apparently a heterosexual with a husband? Good thing she has a solid ground in disciplinary stuff, she should be able to avoid the KJS/Beers thingy no matter incline of the slope of its changes.
She can reach out to ‘latinos asians and other people of color’ but unless she and her church are able to preach an effective gospel message, it won’t help.
