Charles Large has sat through a lot of Sunday services in 79 years as a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.
In 1933, at 10 years old, Large joined St. Luke’s renowned boys choir, and this year, he and the rest of the congregation will celebrate the church’s 175th anniversary.
The church plans to commemorate the milestone in September with a concert, a workshop and a celebration of the Holy Communion followed by a reception.
Much to celebrate. And recent years have not been kind. For 2002 to 2010 Inflation adjusted Plate & Pledge are down aboutt 40 perceent and ASA down about 30 percent. ASA in 2010 was 200 for seating of 500. And yet in 2012 they paud their ex-rector a severance package of $468,000 Statmann
ASA, Membership, and plate and pledge are falling. They must be doing something wrong…
Looking at their programs, I see they are charging $30 for a Celtic Spirituality workshop. That must be the problem. They are charging too much!
