So, regardless of the outcome we will have a divided America where the politicians play different groups off against each other.

Before the Democratic Party was taken over by a highly militant left-wing leadership, both parties through post-election reconciliation were able come to agreements and keep the government (legislative and executive) running.

    Not so anymore.

If Obama wins, I expect more non-conciliatory behavior. Complete with ‘ruling dicta’ such as with Obamacare. Dicta based upon a simple majority (e.g. 51%-49%) where it is presumed that a 2% advantage gives one the right to “rule” the United States.

And this is a recipe for eventual confrontation between the 49% (many of whom profess a strong sense of disenfranchisement) and the 51% who simple mindedly follow a majority leadership that probably does not represent the ‘real majority of the 51% majority.’

“A house divided cannot stand” and our enemies and those jealous of the USA will/are rubbing their hands in glee.

Fishy?? Oh, oh. That can only mean that a Republican is starting to make a strong showing.

The difficulty with your comment #1 is that there are many on the opposite side from you who argue that the Republicans have been taken over by a “highly militant right wing leadership” (to quote your words. I hope people read widely from different perspectives and form their own conclusions.

Somehow we are going to have to find a way to work together in this country, the problems are too big to be solved otherwise.
