It’s a good list. I’ve taught Huck Finn, Lord of the Flies, and Light in August–LoF most recently. They are pretty easy–and fun–to work thru with students, as well as being great novels, of course. Religiously speaking, the ending of The Sound and the Fury–the Shegog sermon and Dilsey’s response–I find more engaging, though I often think of the LinA translation of “D.D.”! Btw, just finished Golding’s late-in-life sea trilogy and would recommend that to anyone–Close Quarters, Fire Down Below, and another one.
