Abp Welby to visit South Sudan and Great Lakes Region

The Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby will visit South Sudan, Burundi, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo to meet Primates of the Anglican Communion, in a five-day visit to the region starting on Thursday this week.

    I am glad that Abp Welby is taking the time to travel to these countries, particularly South Sudan. Any attention by a western public figure is a good thing.

    It will be interesting to see whether he adds West Africa to the itinerary, in view of the unexpected death of the Primate lsat week.
