The Royal British Legion–Remembrance Sunday

Remembrance Sunday, the second Sunday in November, is the day traditionally put aside to remember all those who have given their lives for the peace and freedom we enjoy today. On this day people across the nation pause to reflect on the sacrifices made by our brave Service men and women.

Remembrance Sunday will fall on Sunday 9 November in 2014.

In the US we celebrate all Veterans , especially those still living, on 11/11. We remember and celebrate those who died in that endeavor on Memorial Day in May.

I am grateful for the service of all those whom we remember in the UK and the US. I am grateful also that four Islamists were arrested before they could follow through on their plan to kill the Queen as she laid a wreath at the Cenotaph, and grateful for the Queen’s steadfast determination to do her duty without regard to any threats.

The British head of state honors the military and our sacrifices. Others clearly do not.
