We know you have asked the Diocesan Task Force “to find some ways to maintain the essential unity of the body by identifying practical means by which different groups can hold and exercise their convictions with integrity without needing either to act out or to split off completely and to identify some way in which the two polarizing elements of the diocese can continue to work together.” While the goal of the Task Force is noble, we do not see any solution to the dilemma facing either group, short of a miracle. The dilemma is not based on issues of sexuality. Rather, the primary source of our differences is two interpretations of scripture and of the Gospel itself.
CLC stands committed to the primates’ Communiqué and to whatever Primate endorsed alternate national pastoral scheme may be developed””with or without the cooperation of the House of Bishops. Further, we are committed to work cooperatively with you through any practical matters if such a scheme is determined in a manner that reflects a Christian witness.

The clergy on CLC represent the “best and the brightest” from Colorado, and we are very grateful for their partnership with laity who are seeking Spirit-centered guidence through this–which often gets so political that the Gospel is forgotten. This document hits the nail squarely on the head–the authority of Scripture and the primacy of the Gospel. I know the bishop is trying to seek a middle ground, but these two issues ARE the ground. There is no path between them–only ON them.
In an effort to bolster the elves…… I think the most interesting part of the letter is that they are working to join the ACN. I was of the impression that the CLC did not approve of the more separtist efforts. This looks to be a pre-declaration of indepence warning – at least as a group it appears they will go with the communion in a separate future.
I double dare them to follow through instead of just threatening again and again–and they need to do this before their group gets any smaller–Radner is on his way out, and another of their board members is fully on board with the Bishop, all liturgy with no theology, and other significant names are missing.
Crazy Horse, Father Ephraim may be leaving, but they have a new, signatory of the letter and member of the committee, someone of impeccable orthodox character. ;-P

It is not time to leave, Crazy Horse. How about you wait to see what happens in September/October. If nothing, it is time to leave. But while waiting for September to roll around, march over to Stand Firm and get a copy of Sarah Hey’s book.

No need to wait until September–TEC has given its answer and the Primates are establishing their new Anglican order in all these consecrations—its over in TEC—and the CLC needs to gird up their loins and be faithful to the gospel instead of living in fear of their terrorist bishop—this is the faith for which we should be willing to die–don’t miss the opportunity of witness the Lord has given you…
Crazy, I am talking to people/churches thinking about leaving (like myself). I am waiting for ABp Orombi to give the go ahead to move. I am NOT advocating waiting for the ABC! I don’t operate on geological time. 😉
