Kate Bowler–“I am preparing for death and everyone else is on Instagram”
Posted in Books, Death / Burial / Funerals
Sooner or later we are all given a death sentence. Mine was the diagnosis of Coronary Artery Disease. It was a shock to me and still is. It did force the “One day at a time” frame of mind upon me. But isn’t this the way any Christian should live his or her life? Don’t we pray “Thy Kingdom come? Part of my priestly life is the luxury of getting away from ruminating about my suffering by visiting the sick and dying. When I come away, my suffering is put it perspective. “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.” (Romans 8:18 ESV) I disagree with Kate Bowler and believe things do happen for a reason.
