Moving. Helpful. Slickly produced. Skewed.

2. Ralinda says:

It was heartbreaking and infuriating to hear the man who had been molested since he was 5. A crime was committed against him and now it appears he’s been programmed to think he’s gay. And Integrity is celebrating his false identity that came about as the result of horrible criminal abuse.
Integrity is pushing their standard agenda here.
But as a Church, we also need to remember to be loving and welcoming to broken, sinful people or they may not stick around to hear Jesus’ message of salvation and transformation.

3. Ralinda says:

p.s.
The loving and welcoming part is not conditional.

It was surprising to hear the retired bishop in Uganda claim that the rules against homosexual activity come from a religion not of Africa. He would seem to be disavowing Christianity, but perhaps I misunderstood him.

It was not surprising that there was no voices of those who repented of homosexual activity. Nor was there any claim that all those featured are involved solely in committed exclusive relationships. One did mention that he lost his virginity rather later than most (at age 20?).

Thanks for the plug, Kendall.
Cheers from Canterbury!

6. Jeffersonian says:

Those poor folk. Perhaps we can appease their bitterness by giving them pointy hats.

Part of our humanity and sinfulness is our sexual desires that are expressed at an early age and these desires continue throught our life. I don’t think it is the job of the church to bless my using others for sexual experimentaion and being used. As a teenager and young adult I used others and was used by others. My relationship with Christ put this in perspective and convicted me of my sinfulness. Sexuality is much like fire, if we keep it in the fire place or properly manage it all is well, start a fire on the living room floor (at least in western society dwellings) and you are asking for trouble. One of the largest causes of poverty is unwed pregnancies, look at all the damage (HIV, Hep C etc) from gay promiscuity. The Scripture certianly warns of being sexually imorality. I have not run into the ethos in the gay community of saving ones self for the right person, virginity at “marriage” or any other social restraints about sexuality. The social norm in the homosexual community seems to be to be sexually active to “discover yourself” then when you sort of feel like it, enter into a “relationship”. Is any one in integrity pushing virginity till marriage, sexual abstenance, protecting the “young” etc? It seems to be all about just accept our life style, then we may chose to join you and you will accept us on OUR terms never mind the damage we cause!!
