This is where we can see that TEC leadership do not mean the “one, holy, catholic and apostolic” part when they recite the Creeds. The introduction of women priests seriously strained ecumenical relations with the Roman and Orthodox Churches; the acceptance of priests and bishops sexually active outside of marriage is enough to make them conclude Anglicans are clearly not part of any concept of catholic, that is, universal, Christianity.
WM, I wonder if there will be anything left of the AC to receive an admonition in ten years? The worthies at Lambeth seem to be doing their best to assure the earliest possible demise of the AC. If the AC is still around in ten years it certainly won’t be accountable to lack of effort on the part of its episcopate.
I wonder if ten years from now the ancient apostolic patriarchs will bother to send admonitions?
