Atheists File Suit Over National Day of Prayer

A Wisconsin-based group of atheists and agnostics has filed suit against President Bush over the federal law designating a National Day of Prayer.

The Freedom From Religion Foundation, which urges a strict separation of church and state, also names White House Press Secretary Dana Perino, Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle, and National Day of Prayer Task Force Chairwoman Shirley Dobson in the lawsuit filed Friday (Oct. 3).

“The point is to stop the National Day of Prayer,” said Annie Laurie Gaylor, co-president of the foundation, in an interview Monday.

We need to pray that they will cease denying God and for their Salvation.

Maybe we should institute a national day of prayer for the conversion of the hearts, souls and minds of atheists.

How do these folks feel about Thanksgiving?

  4. Br. Michael says:

In opposing religion these people seek to privilege their own worldview. Upon what basis? Do they deny that they have a worldview? How do they propose to create a worldviewless society when such a thing is an absolute impossibility? Or are they only opposed to thiestic worldviews? If you say that you have no worldview is in and of itself a worldview.

The point is that the sue-ees need to stop the sue-ers! File a countersuit!
