ICSC: OCTOBER CHAIN STORE SALES WERE THE WORST SEEN IN 35 YEARS

What a nasty headline that is. ICSC is the International Council of Shopping Centers.

  1. Dacama says:

This is a very misleading headline and is typical of the media. Chain store sales were not the worst in 35 years. The GROWTH in chain store sales was the worst in 35 years, not the absolute sales which is what the headline makes educationallly challenged people think.

I believe that many people will not be spending as much money on Christmas sales as before: they don’t have the money. Also may God open the eyes of those who insist on running up charge purchases.
I can remember many Christmas’ that presents were scarce and my sister and I got new shoes and a toy because of the Old Newsboys help in Detroit MI. There was more than one dinner in the past that was good due to the Salvation Army. My sister and I did not care less for our parents because we were poor, we shared a great love for each other. Oh, and thanks for the correct interpretation of 35% of “what”.
