Twenty vocational deacons gathered with Bishop Edgar at the Cathedral on September 26 for their annual Deacons’ Day. Bishop Edgar spoke on 1 Peter 3 stressing the value of sharing their personal testimony in ministry. “He pointed out that testimonies often have a greater impact on seekers and nonbelievers than doctrine or teaching,” said the Rev. John Davis, who serves as a deacon at St. Helena’s, Beaufort. “Testimonies remind people they are not alone on their spiritual journey. They humanize ministry, build relationships and provide strong evidence of God’s continued work in the world.”
