Pastor Rick Warren defends invitation to the inauguration

Under fire for opposing gay marriage, influential evangelical pastor Rick Warren said Saturday that he loves Muslims, people of other religions, Republicans and Democrats, and he also loves “gays and straights.”

“You don’t have to see eye to eye to walk hand in hand,” said Warren.

Let’s not forget about bestiality, the last frontier.

I recall reading that Obama has also invited a heterophobic, discriminatory, all-homosexual marching band to participate in the inaugural day parade. That doesn’t seem to have attracted much attention.

If the Rev. Warren loves gay and lesbian people so much, why does his thinking and speaking reflect stereotypes suggested by the connections to incest, child abuse and polygamy referred to in #1? These variants of human sexual expression are not identified with gay or lesbian folks any differently than heterosexual people–and certainly not generalizable to either group as a whole.
