Tania Rolland has always been fascinated with old churches.
Their character, the way they feel inside, the warm atmosphere, beautiful wood, open ceilings, simple construction and history have all drawn her to churches and created a burning desire to renovate and live in one some day.
That day has come and Ms. Rolland is living her dream.
She and her family are now living in the newly renovated St. Albans Anglican Church in Lequille, Annapolis County, a small rural community just south of Annapolis Royal.
“It has an absolutely wonderful feel to it,” she said in an interview inside the building.
Kinda neat.
Now TEC might have an idea for what to do with all those vacant parishes they’re suing to keep!
I have to admit, it is kind of a cute house. I hope there’s no graveyard in the backyard, though.
Yeah, I expect over the next few years, there will be a lot of abandoned Episcopal Churches hit the market.
the snarkster
It’s gratifying to see someone take over a church legally.
This church/house is located in the former diocese of Fred Hiltz, the Anglican Church of Canada’s new primate. I hope it’s not a portent of the ACC’s future.
Now if only there were some ex-parishioners of some Episcopal churches willing to acquire these old churches for new Anglican parishes! What a neat idea that would be!
