Shhh don’t speak the truth – you will shatter the lies we have built and broken Western society upon…

In an ideal world, I think abortion would be “inappropriate subject matter” for 7th graders (typically 11-12 years old). Sadly, given the number of early teen pregnancies, this is now the age when children must come to grips with the issues of pregnancy and abortion. Still, I can understand a parent being upset by their child’s exposure to the shirt, especially if they haven’t had “the talk” yet.

I would challenge the school board to better define “inappropriate subject matter”. Could the t-shirt be worn if it didn’t have the fetal pictures? What about if it didn’t have the pro-life message on the back, and just said “growing…growing…gone” on the front?

Somewhat relevant: I went to a middle and high school with a uniform. I liked the uniform then, and I like it now.

Although they wouldn’t be of voting age, would it be inappropriate
for a student to wear a “Vote Obama” or “Vote McCain” button ?
What about “Vote Revolutionary Socialist Party” button ?
Are those inflammatory or otherwise inappropriate ? Or does it
depend on the prevailing political winds of the particular school
    district ?
