This is not good for the diocese which would rather make a statement over all else. The new bishop is seeking a path “between virulent fundamentalism and deriders of religion.” This defines the new gospel.
I think I’m glad I didn’t take that job in South Georgia. I was getting weird vibes from folks about what was going to go down in the Bishop’s election.
Scott Benhase came to be rector of St. Philip’s, Durham, while we were there. He did a good job as rector – built an addition to the parish house, increased membership and community activity, founded a mission to Spanish speaking people. He’s a Christ-centered preacher and I think he will do a good job in Georgia.

Not sure where that is going to take the diocese, Pb, but my money’s on it involving rainbows.
But certainly NOT the Noahide covenantal type, eh?
Only if it involves violation of same, Doc.
