In the light of that I stated that in the event of union with the Roman Catholic Church I would be willing to receive re-ordination into the Roman Catholic priesthood but that I would not be willing to deny the priesthood I have exercised hitherto.

A sane, godly, reflection on the situation at hand. He places his heart on the call for unity in the Body of Christ. Oh that ++ Rowan would choose the same course, or step aside and open the door for the Holy Spirit to move +Hind to a place where the Anglican Communion might honestly move toward greater unity.
If nothing else, Benedict XVI has extended a hand. Pray that there will be some with the courage to reach out in return. Not to be absorbed, rather to be made one.
Either your orders are valid or they are not. You cannot both assert the validity of your orders and accept re-ordination, which supposes invalidity.
