A Prayer for the Feast Day of St. Mary the Virgin

O God, who hast taken to thyself the blessed Virgin Mary, mother of thine incarnate Son: Grant that we, who have been redeemed by his blood, may share with her the glory of thine eternal kingdom; through the same thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.

    I appreciate such prayers.

I occassionally remind my granddaughters that the first thing that Mary did when the angel appeared to her was that she LISTENED. Yes, Mary the mother of Jesus is no longer with us – but we must continue to do the work that whe did – listen to God. He speaks when we are quiet and alone.
