Lots of reference to political issues. Only reference to Christ, somewhat obliquely, was in the one staffer’s mention of
    Christmas.

  2. Dan Crawford says:

We should acknowledge though that quite a few trees were saved.

I thought the most telling was the comment about “I didn’t know Jesus was lost.” The problem seems to be that we don’t know that we are lost and need Him! It also drives me a bit over the edge with tripe “preach the gospel, use words if necessary” stuff. Although not said in the article, it is worth noting that St. Francis never said it and God forbid, what if this was the approach of our church fathers. I suspect we would have never heard the Gospel then. God help TEC!

  4. rectorstbarts says:

“trite” not tripe, if you can stomach it!

I saw this sentence and I couldn’t resist commenting here…:

[blockquote]An ongoing project in the Office of Communication has been to monitor and moderate Internet conversations about the Episcopal Church on social networks and various lifestyle discussion boards. [/blockquote]

Hmmm, the forgot to mention “editing information on Wikipedia to present TEC and KJS more favorably…”

  6. Terry Tee says:

Karen I think the reference you cite refers to us. On T19 we are being watched. Oh well it’s always good to have company.

Hi, Mrs. Schori. How are the lawsuits going?

RE: “has been to monitor and moderate Internet conversations . . . ”

Well — they certainly have *tried* to “moderate” Internet conversations over here and elsewhere. I suppose effort counts for something! ; > )
