Would that really make a difference towards a better path? The old cliche about “the devil you know” and “the devil you don’t know” springs to mind.
🙂 I know! TEC could start to repair its budget by dropping its litigation against the Anglican faithful. Yes, I know. That will happen when the home of those devils referred to in my paragraph above freezes over.
“Faithful engagement in Christ’s mission” would imply that TEC would need to become a Christian Church as its first step. Does the phrase “re-arranging the deck chairs” have some relevance here?
So having identified the unwieldy and incoherent Rube Goldberg machine that is TEC’s system of governance, the good Bishop proposes…yet another Commission.
How about sacking PB Jefferts Schori for starters?
I was wondering when TEC would get sucked into the buzzword “Missional.” That seems to be all the rage in other denominations at the moment.
