The bishop suffragan of Texas, the Rt. Rev. Dena A. Harrison, reminded the bishops that “we are indeed members of a worldwide Anglican Communion. The actions that we might take today put our brothers and sisters in a tough position around the world that is literally life and death.”
“We are better able to handle the ambiguity than they are,” she added.
The Rt. Rev. Nathan Baxter, Central Pennsylvania, countered that “we’ve been called to courage, to not be afraid to be a minority.”

Well, that’s good because the denomination is shrinking at a gargantuan rate.
How courageous is it to vote for what was clearly the (overwhelming) majority in the house in a country where other churches are following the same path, a path which is itself just following the surrounding culture? To call this “courage” in the face of what Christians in other parts of the world are experiencing is … sickening.
I wonder who will preside over the death of TEC? Because it’s coming.
Sarcastic post of the week:
Ah, courage. The joint was dripping with it. And inclusion.
