In a lengthy interview, he said it’s very important that he urge the local members of the Episcopal Church to get involved in spreading Christ’s message through community engagement and involvement.
He said the church sits on a three-legged stool that is made up of the scriptures, tradition and the wisdom of holy men and women.
Bishop Fisher said he believes that small churches and even a single individual can impact the community.
“After all, Jesus changed the world with just twelve disciples,” he noted.
Tradition AND “the wisdom of holy men and women”, but no reason. I Just how many versions of this stool are there now?

For 2002 to 2011 the Dio of W Mass lost 27 percent of Members, 23 percent of ASA, 22 percent of inflation adjusted Plate & Pledge, 42 percent of Marraiges, and 54 percent off Infant Baptisms. Churches down by 5 percent (60 to 57) and ….oh, YES, same-sex marraiges. Reaoning? Hmmm? Statmann
Reason has nothing to do with the Diocese of W Mass losing 27% of its members and the other facts you have cited. It is called being “prophetic”. They are willing to lose members for the sake of holding on to an ideal of being “prophetic” and being “moved by the Holy Spirit”. How far are they willing to go? Until TEC is no longer viable?and then they will have a dead but prophetic “church”. Nice.
