One remembers Jane Hedges for the innovative Hindu Snowmen at Westminster Abbey instead of the usual Holy Family at Christmas one year:

It may have become traditional for angels, three wise men and the baby Jesus to play a starring role in the festive season.

But now Hindu snowmen, a Chinese dragon and a Jewish temple are also to be included in an attempt to make the celebrations more inclusive of Britain’s diverse communities.

Westminster Abbey will unveil life-size snowmen that Anglican clergy hope will help to improve relations and dialogue between other faiths.

Dressed in turbans, with bindi dots on their foreheads, they are intended to demonstrate that Christmas should not be exclusively for Christians.

The Rev Jane Hedges, a canon at the abbey, said that it was important to encourage people from other faiths to join in the celebrations

… She pointed out that for Muslims they can appreciate the story of Christ’s birth because it is included in the Koran, adding that the Hindu snowmen were not an attempt to dumb down.

Jane Hedges is a vocal advocate of women bishops [with herself in mind it seems] and wrote an article now behind the Times paywall. She joins the many heterodox women deans queued up to become women bishops like June Osborne at Salisbury, friend of the Presiding Bishop and who also innovatively has cited the Gospel of Mary Magdalene in her sermons. Mind you many of the male deans aren’t much better [David Ison and many gay or gay advocating deans are also stacked up waiting for take off…after the women bishops].

Is this the future Archbishop Welby had in mind when he wrote:

“Bishop Katharine’s achievements serve – and will continue to serve – as a powerful model for women seeking to pursue their vocations in the church.”

Here’s another one being talked about for a bishropic, the flaming liberal Angela Tilby.

thank you for highlighting this PM. People need to be aware of what is going on in CofE, in particular the background of those who are being quietly promoted to positions of responsibility.

It is no wonder that traditionalists do not trust the assurances of the leadership that they will be looked after – every month the hierarchy go out of their way to show that they do not care in the least for the values held by orthodox evangelicals or anglo-catholics.

And then the hierarchy wonder why many congregations and parishioners just aren’t listening to them anymore!
