I would not ever presume to speak for my friend Bishop Iker, but I do hope that those who comment will read the Bishop’s own statement in which he cites the continuing lawsuit against his Diocese. All theology aside, one can certainly sympathize with a Bishop not wishing to honor a person whose litigious behavior continues to hobble that Bishop’s Diocese.

I did not even understand the *theme* for the meeting. In fact, I think it is clear that they are not singing the Lord’s song. That is the problem.
Meeting in retreat, the theme for the gathering will be “How Shall We Sing the Lord’s Song in a Strange Land.â€
