With music, South Indian dance, swooping streamers and the laying of hands, the eight-county Episcopal Diocese of Rochester consecrated the Rt. Rev. Prince G. Singh as their new bishop today at the Eastman Theatre.

Hmmm, in the comment section, there is a guy named Robertroy who said in part:
[blockquote]Locally, the diocese of Rochester is in a free fall. It has lost 23.4% of membership in the past five years, 34.7% in the past ten years. Can the new bishop reverse this? Just wait till the lawsuits take place in Pittsburgh, Fort Worth, etc. People will be so repelled by the church that is a gay rights front that sues people that the losses will actually accelerate.[/blockquote]
God bless the new bishop. He sure has come a long way from St. Andrew’s, Chennai and studying at the evangelical Union Biblical Seminary to sponsoring motions at diocesan conventions affirming blessings of same sex marriages.
A bishop prince… it’s been awhile since there was one of those. :cheese:
Gee, how appropriate that this was held in a theater, even if it wasn’t in the Theater District in New York City. I’m sure the P.B. still felt at home.
