It should finally force some clear thinking and re-align the incompatible fragments where they belong: Evangelicals with Protestants, Catholics with Catholics, and the Liberal Middle with whatever the “spirit of the age” demands. Surely, concerns about unity, if genuine, must mean the unity of the whole Church of Christ, not the Church of England, which, by definition, is but a fragment.
