Wow, this is one of the more informed interviews I have seen. I recommend listening to this whole piece. Its worth the 23 minutes.

  2. The Lakeland Two says:

Agree with #1 – worth the 23 minutes.

  3. MargaretG says:

I can’t watch it — anyone know of a summary (or better still a transcript)?

  4. Jason M. Fitzmaurice says:

As a reappraiser I think the best piece of advise I could give the reasserters is to put Gregory Venables front and center as much as possible while putting as much distance between themselves and Peter Akinola as possible. I disagree with Archbishop Venables on much of his theology, and many of his actions, but he is clearly – from this interview and others – a good man, who would desperately like to see a way through this impasse. A man who respects his opponents, though he disagrees with them, and a man full of love not hate.

  5. robroy says:

Again, one contrasts the love fest interviews of the BBC with Ms Schori and Gene Robinson versus the duke it out interviews of +Minns and ++Venables.

  6. Tired of Hypocrisy says:

I’m impressed with Venables’ demeanor. He doesn’t dodge the issues, and most importantly he makes his points without insulting the opposition. Well done.

  7. Cennydd says:

Having met Archbishop Venables and talked with him, I would say that he means what he says and pulls no punches.

  8. Chris Hathaway says:

I do wish when presented with Akinola’s statement that homosexuality was an abomination that he didn’t distance himself from him. It is an abomination, and God says it is. When confronted by such interviewers one should Grab the infidel bull by the horns and break his neck.
