Matt Kennedy Interviewed about Diocese of Central New York Events

The Central New York Episcopal Church is suing a splinter congregation in Binghamton. The diocese is taking the Church of the Good Shepherd to court on December 12th to recoup all of its property and assets. That includes the church building. FLN’s Bob Price spoke with Senior Pastor Matt Kennedy about how the church could be affected for taking a stance against the consecration of homosexual bishops.

I was unable to find the link on the page to this particular article/interview. Nevertheless, I’m pleased that they are being honest about what this is about – gays (in this case, gay bishops). It was only last week that there was a posting on here about how it “wasn’t” about gays, but rather about scripture, etc….

Congrats Father. We got notice of suit last week. We’re all in good company. Blessings as you go through the fire.

Sure Matt, consider my mind broadened! Now, may I offer you the same advice?

Prayers for you and your congregation at this time Fr. Matt.

RE: “Also, this crisis was brought about by the consecration of a non-celibate homosexual bishop precisely BECAUSE such an action violates scripture . . . ”

Right — and it should be noted that the reason why TEC leaders feel free to violate scripture is that their base-level contempt for scripture leads to that.

If it weren’t blessing immoral sexual relationships, it’d be something else popular. At bottom, scripture is merely the rambling misbegotten perceptions of the divine held by a bunch of primitive nomads anyway.
