Analysts: Al-Qaida Seeks to Capitalize on Global Financial Crisis

The world’s financial crisis appears to have energized Islamic militants and their supporters.

Groups that monitor terrorist Internet traffic have seen a flurry of messages on al-Qaida-linked Web sites that gloat over the West’s economic difficulties, and urge militants to take advantage.

On one Web site monitored by the U.S.-based SITE Intelligence Group, a user says, “now is a golden opportunity. If America is hit now, it will never survive, unless God permits it.”

Read it all.

    How little they understand.

  2. Cennydd says:

They will never understand, because they are blinded by their own propaganda.

We have many within our borders, American-born citizens, some elected to govern and lead our country, who equally hate America.

  4. Irenaeus says:

GA/FL [#3]: Do you believe that President-elect Obama “hates America”?

Seems like some of those Middle Eastern terrorists have forgotten a few of the lessons learned at the start of WWII. Japan’s surprise attack caused a lot of damage for a few months and then all h**l broke loose. A good friend of, a veteran of WWII, met with some of his Japanese counterpart secret agents just after WWII. You know something, the Japanese couldn’t understand how we could stand back on our two feet and proceeded to beat the tar out of them. My good friend looked them in the eye and said very pointedly “..You made us mad.!!!”. I can only hope that the terrorists of the Middle East remember recent history and do not forget the lessons therein.

There’s an old saying: “Don’t get the Yanks mad at you…..you’ll live to regret it!”

We shouldn’t underestimate the ability of Al-Qaida to attack us on many fronts, I suspect that Al-Qaida has been quietly trying to manipulate the market for a good while.
I don’t know enough about the stock market or lending institutions to know if Al-Qaida could succeed at this but it is conceivable that they have enough money and maybe expertise to cause some damage to our way of life.
