Looks like Bishop Wimberly borrowed a mitre from KJS!

Do love that Moon Goddess miter on the PB.

Good Lord, you’re right! Apologies to +Wimberly! I did think it odd that he would wear such clownish garb since, when he was our bishop in Lexington, he was always a picture of episcopal sartorial elegance.

  5. Vintner says:

Since when has the Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas ever, EVER worn a mitre?

  6. Dilbertnomore says:

If Mrs. Schori is smiling in the picture (and she does appear to be smiling), how nice a picture can it possibly be?

Looks to me like just another revisionist bishop hatched in another revisionist diocese. It’s a ‘dog bites man” story.

  7. evan miller says:

Well, Dilbertnomore, at least the new bishop is a man, married with children. We must be thankful for small mercies these days in TEC. ( And where DOES KJS get those ghastly vestments!?)

  8. Bob Lee says:

Pretty picture. But any new Episcopal anything has got to give pause to worry about the future of the Faith.

His last parish was listed by Integrity as gay-friendly. I am not sure what that means but makes one worried that there will be a San Diego or Florida coup in the future.

Would it be better for the parish bulletin to announce “Gays not welcome here”?
