Comment in the paper today:

Now I know why the Democrats in Congress don’t mind raising our taxes: They don’t have to pay any unless they get appointed to a cabinet position!

Oh no! The crucial post of Chief Performance Officer remains unfilled …

At least she had the guts to step aside, not like that weasel Daschle.

Does anybody in politics pay taxes? Maybe we could heal the economy by making them all cough up the taxes they “forgot” to pay or didn’t “know” they were responsible for.

Isn’t it amazing how many of the taxtaxtaxTAX Democrats seem to have “forgotten” to pay their taxes. You would think he could have spent a little of that $5 million he has made lobbying since he got dumped by his constituents on a good accountant. Sheeeeesh…..

Ah! I see the new president is sacrificing the small fry in an attempt to get the appointee he *really* wants. Grab your wallets and hope you don’t get sick!

Daschle just dropped out.

Our parish home Bible studies are entering Mark 11 & 12 – Jesus has strong words for elitist leaders who take from the people and then retreat into a robber’s den.
This is dizzying stuff. This is now – what? – the third appointee who hasn’t been paying taxes?
Conservatives have their share of flaws and problems. But the galling thing about Liberals is their absolute inability to self-critique.
