Notable and Quotable (I)

It took [Tom] Daschle’s resignation to shake the president out of his arrogant attitude that his charmed circle doesn’t have to abide by the lofty standards he lectured the rest of us about for two years.

    Well. That didn’t last too long. Seems as though the libs don’t have much patience for their Messiah to “learn on the job”. Out of his depth, is he? Tired of being in the White House (as Mr. Obama admitted in this piece) is just plain impetuous to state to a public audience. More painfully obvious on the job learning to come.

    Ouch. If he’s lost Maureen Dowd and the NYT crowd, he’s in trouble.

  3. St. Jimbob of the Apokalypse says:

    He’ll salvage the NYT’s respect by signing FOCA. May God have mercy on us when that happens..

    Here’s information on another bill that is making its way through Congress, kind of a stealth FOCA – it’s called “Prevention First” and, according to Students for Life, includes:

    S. 21 Prevention First Act
    * Introduced: January 05, 2009
    * Status: Introduced
    * Next step: Voted on by Senate
    * Latest action: Read twice and referred to the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions.
    * Sponsor: Sen. Harry Reid [D, NV]* Make Title X (family planning) a permanent program and fund it at $700 million or more.
    * Mandate that health insurance programs that cover prescriptions must cover abortifacient contraceptives.
    * Create a government program to push abortifacient “Emergency Contraception.”
    * Take all federal money away from any hospital that refuses to administer the abortifacient Emergency Contraception to victims of rape.
    * Create additional massive government funding for Planned Parenthood style sex education programs.
    * Permanently include ‘family planning services’ as part of the Medicaid program.
