The first poll of Britain’s churchgoers, carried out for The Sunday Telegraph, found that thousands of them believe they are being turned down for promotion because of their faith.
One in five said that they had faced opposition at work because of their beliefs.
More than half of them revealed that they had suffered some form of persecution for being a Christian.
I hope that this is not a surprise to anyone considering Jesus told us to expect persecution for following him. May we hold each other up in prayer that we may persevere through it when (not if) it comes.

As I recall that happened to C.S. Lewis many years ago; his popular writing on Christian topics was just not what Oxford liked to have around. Cambridge made a move and got him on their faculty as a result. The bigotry is just catching up with everyday believers in Britain.
