Pictures from Kenya

UPDATE:
Stand Firm has identified many of the bishops in the picture below here. If you know some of those not yet identified, please leave a comment over at StandFirm. Also, someone who was present at the service in Kenya has left a comment at SF identifying the participating Primates. Here’s the link.
Thanks to USA Today, we have this nice picture of the consecration today in Nairobi of Bill Atwood and Bill Murdoch:

The story accompanying the photo is here.

UPDATE 2: Kevin Kallsen of Anglican TV has a large collection of photos online here. This one below is my favorite. NICE WORK KEVIN!

Certainly not a RC consecration, look at the ladies kneeling with +Atwood & +Murdoch. I presume their wives and because the Lord took two and made one flesh, those congregations gain not just these men but a team.

    What a wonderful photo.

May the Lord bless these bishops and their flocks.

Indeed it is a wonderful photo. Good to see Common Cause bishops in the picture, a hopeful sign.

  3. Newbie Anglican says:

++Duncan’s presence certainly makes a strong statement.

  4. William P. Sulik says:

In order to beat Fr. Jake to the punch, I note that Martyn Minns is standing behind the Most Rev’d Benjamin M. P. Nzimbi, so obviously he is pulling the strings.

    (okay, I’ll shut up…)

Aw, man…and I had a draft all ready to publish.
    Curses; foiled again.
Were the strings photoshopped out, you think?

  7. Alice Linsley says:

We serve an awesome God who raises the dead and restores flesh to dry bones! I am hopeful about the future of Anglicanism. TEC’s capitulation to American secularism is doomed.

  8. Sarah1 says:

I believe that the picture of “Archbishop Akinola” is actually the second clone, as we have This Important News Story detailing the disappearance of the first.

quite a few female clergy at the Kallsen link. found that a bit surprising…

What a great day in Kenya and what a strange headline in USA Today:
2 U.S. bishops defect to Anglican Church

  11. TonyinCNY says:

The USA Today story reports that the two newly consecrated bishops will be returning to their churches. I wasn’t aware that Bp. Atwood leads a church. Is he attached to a church?

  12. William#2 says:

Ok, I will follow up comments #2 and #3 above and note that a clear statement of orthodox “Anglican” unity is being made with these Kenyan consecrations and particularly the first photograph posted by Canon Harmon above. Here, we have most, if not all of the African primates sponsoring missionary Bishops to the U.S. from AMiA to CANA, and the TEC Bishop of Pittsburgh together to lay hands upon these men.
Perhaps Karen B. the photograph above is the future of North American Anglicanism and Chicago is the past.

Cope and mitre over rochet and chimere?! looks ridiculous.
