Were any of these folks people who strongly desired to remain active in the Episcopal Church? Is there an injustice afoot here in the sense that people who wished to stay are being drummed out? If so, the action is inexplicable. What was their response to the initial notice? No. 1: I could not find the part that said they were deposed for “holding the ancient faith.” That does not seem like grounds for deposition. Might there be other grounds?
#6, a reading of the deposition letter at the link shows that it claims to deprive these priests of the authority and charism placed in them at their ordinations. They are not only called “no longer TEC priests,” they are declared to be no longer priests at all. Revoking any implied license to preach and administer sacraments in the rump Ft. Worth TEC body would be reasonable; none of these men want to do so. Their licenses and ministries remain with their original diocese and bishop.
Deposed for holding the ancient faith. Sounds like an honor. Does a medal or plaque come with that?
It looks like we need a Wall of Honor.
Bishop Ohl left a train wreck behind in Northwest Texas and now for his second performance tosses 57 clergy under the bus in Fort Worth. Statmann

The genius also “deposed” a Roman Catholic layman is his latest “get tough” stunt. In the words of Bugs Bunny…What a maroon!

No. 1 Fr. J., according to the comments on the website they’re having fun framing the letters of deposition.

Faux grounds for a faux diocese with a faux standing committee. Looks like there was no problem, it was all faux.
