Greek Workers Occupy Ministry; New Walkout Called

Greek demonstrators took over the Finance Ministry building in central Athens and blocked streets in the city center as union groups stepped up protests against government wage cuts and tax increases to curb the deficit.

    One of the funniest things I’ve seen in a while was the “Parody” page at the back of a recent Weekly Standard issue, with a fake newspaper page showing a photo of John Belushi in a toga and the headline, “EU Puts Greece on Double Secret Probation.”

    #2, while you can’t back down, you can go bankrupt, which is eventually what will happen…

    Of course. But that is where we are headed. The only solution is not to go down that road and we are already on it.

    I’ll bet we’ll see this in California before the end of the year. My union is totally in denial – still talking about negotiating raises.
