ENS / Episcopal Life Online has a video by Louisiana Bishop Charles Jenkins posted. You can watch that here.
Update: Haven’t watched it all yet…, juggling too much else. But, the part we watched was all about Katrina relief.
ENS has also posted a picture gallery from this morning’s Eucharist here.
I don’t know whether the Rt. Rev. Jenkins is a reappraiser, a reasserter, or somewhere in the middle, but I have to agree with his sentiments toward the end of the video. And certainly, helping the people who were devastated by Katrina is Kingdom work. I just hope we remember to be fully sacramental in that work: not just doing a deed, but also proclaiming the Word.
I went to the site with the photos. The first thing I noticed was that a number of “Bishops” were wearing regular shirts (some without ties). Has this become common in ECUSA? Priests and certainly Bishops should never appear in public “out of uniform.” Our own priest even wears his collar when he has members of the parish over to dinner. The only time I have ever seen him out of his collar was once when we got to his house 10 minutes early and he had not changed from his jog.
recchip, even in the Press conference just now, one of the bishops was in a shirt and tie, not clericals. It confused a lot of folks who assumed it might be David Booth Beers. But it was not. I believe it was +John Rabb of Maryland. Agree, it’s a bit odd.
I didn’t see the video clip of Bishop Jenkins just now – the link went to one of KJS?
Hmmm. Sherri, now that I’ve clicked on the link, I’m still getting the +Jenkins video.
Try this link and then look at the bottom left of the page.

That’s very different from the page I got the first time – there was a large clip of KJS. Hmm. Thanks, Elves.
Oops, no, that gives me the “press conversation” and when I click on the link to mroe videos I get KJS again.
