The AP wanted to know, “who is going to decide whether the Episcopal Church has responded to the Dar Es Salaam Communique”¦?” Bishop Rabb said, “it is the Primates who will have to decide that.”
I agree. The Primates asked for the Windsor Report, they received it and modified it slightly in Dromantine, and then in response to the TEC’s response to Windsor and Dromantine, they issued the Tanzania Communique. Now the American House of Bishops is meeting in response to the Primates Tanzania Communique and before their September 30th deadline. So where is the Primates meeting on the Anglican Communion schedule? That would seem to be quite important–KSH.
Good question Kendall. I too would like to know.
Do they have to meet? Conference calls are a wonderful thing. They are also quite a bit cheaper than a physical meeting. Oh, that’s right, I forgot. This is the church that still thinks a typewriter is at times too innovative (to our blue haired pew sitters). Seriously, conduct a conference call, recorded, with a roll call vote of the primates. Less than 30 minutes and we have an answer.
My guess is the next one may be after Abp. Akinola has retired in 2009. Abp. Malango has gone, Abp. Gomez on way out. If I am the ABC, I’d wait and hope new primates will be less vocal.
Not sure that it matters, in any case. How many divisions do the primates have? Or lawyers?
Why does the ABC have to call the meeting? Why can’t Akinola or Orombi call it? How about October 1st?
